Large-dam reservoirs have been commonly constructed in South Korea, due to lack of diverse
water resources. The unique climate characteristics, such as excessive summer rainfall, have
accelerated difficulties in efficient management of water resources. K-water is primarily
responsible for water resources, and have strived for supplying sufficient water with confronting
water quality problems. In this talk, we demonstrate a variety of actions and strategies for water
resources management from water-quality monitoring to optimal dam operations.
