In recent years, ther has been an increase in the number of internet data centers to continuously process, store and transmit data. The iinternet data centers have resulted in a tremendous increase in energy consumption for powering and thermal management of the facility and the IT equipment installed. Cooling systems used to manage the thermal conditions of the inernet data center facility and the IT equipment consume a great amount of energy because fo the constant heat neededto be extracted from the facility. In this study, the load characteristics of the cooling system for IDC were analyzed comparing with residential and commercial building systems. A study on the cooliing system design was investigated to enhance the performance, especially related with heat source media. The system structure and application method were proposed to save energy of the cooling system for Internet data center.
