Inorganic matter mainly aluminum silicate and organic matter particularly microorganism are major contaminants to affect the brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) membrane system operated in Company H. In specific, aluminum/silica take 70% of total inorganic contaminants and organic contaminant estimated as biofoulant account for over 50% of total foulant based on the analysis. Annual growth of those share and decrease of efficiency of chemical cleaning due to the less removal of aluminum silicate have caused the operating cost increase such as chemicals, membrane replacement, and energy cost. Therefore, the effect of microbubble assisted chemical cleaning to reduce the chemical cleaning frequency is investigated in this study. |
