Comprehensive disaster management measures, including structural measures and unstructured measures, are needed to estimate flood damages and resolve the insufficient drainage capacity problems in the Pesangrahan river basin. To this end, the scalable cloud-based risk management system (CCWRMS) was developed to suit the characteristics of the Pesangrahan river basin based on the K-water’s water management system. As the existing K-water’s water management system was systemically oriented to Korean conditions, it was reorganized and customized to meet local requirements in the Pesangrahan river basin. Besides, CCWRMS adopted a cloud management solution (CMS) that automatically manages and operates integrated information resources because of local conditions in Indonesia like hard power outages and difficulties in managing and maintaining servers. To deliver cloud services, CCWRMS applied distributed computing, virtualization, system management, service platforms, security, billing, and user authentication technologies. |
