The eutrophication and algal blooms by harmful cyanobacteria (CyanoHAs) and freshwater red-tide (FRT) that severely experiencing in typical regulated system of the Nakdong River are one of the most rapidly expanding water quality problems in Korea and worldwide. As the Nakdong River has undergone the various anthropogenic environmental changes such as dam and weir constructions, the seasonal biological water quality deteriorated over the years, and these states are still ongoing. |
