According to statistical data on natural disasters for the period 1987-2016 provided by Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADCR, 2016), water-related disaster (flood and storm) is dominant in occurrence, killed, affected and economic damage at 70.9%, 78.9%, 84.5%, 38.7%, respectively and this disaster trend is the same as in Korea. In this context, it is very natural that disaster managemetn in each country is concentrated on flood, storm and earthquake, rather than other types. |
