The water utilities are investing funds such as water quality inspection service, improvement of water treatment system and replacement of deteriorated old pipeline to supply high quality tap water. However, the proportion of drinking water directly in Korea is still 7.2%. It is very low compared to 56% in US. and 52% in the Japan. The biggest reason for the distrust of tap water was the concern that there was a problem with the customer’s water tank or the deteriorated pipeline with 41.7% (KWWA, 2017). The turbid water experienced by faucets gives rise to these concerns about water quality deterioration in the process of tap water supply. |
