A evaluation is presented of the dynamic characteristics of two soil models and their impacts on the non-linear deformation analysis results for an entire embankment dam. The two models considered in this evaluation are the Mohr-Coulomb and the UBCHYST soil models. The evaluation provided in this paper is to compare the computed embankment response with these two models are compared to the measured response of Lenihan Dam to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake so as to better understanding the impacts of the different soil models. |
