As one of the pretreatment processes for seawater desalination, dissolved air flotation (DAF) has been widely used especially in Middle East countries which is effective for removal of suspended solids and algae control. There are several parameters affecting the performance of DAF processes such as all influential parameters. To reduce the energy consumption thus decreasing the operation costs, optimization of operating factors is essential.Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find the optimum operating parameters of DAF process according to the influent water quality. To do so, both modeling and experimental approaches were applied, and treatment efficiency was compared when major affecting parameters including were varied. |
