N-nitrosamines have reportedly been detected as by-products in drinking water and wastewater. They are now receiving attention as a new by-product, including in a recent survey of water purification plants in Korea. N-nitrosamines are generally known to be present at levels ≥10 ng/L in chlorinated water in purification or wastewater treatment plants. The present study used stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) and thermal desorption-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (TD-GC/MS), which are effective analysis methods for trace organic contaminants, for the purpose of developing a fast and simple analytical method for N-nitrosamines at the ng/L level. In the present study, analysis of N-nitrosamines was performed using an optimized method and conditions. |
