Generally, the rehabilitation parts for a hydraulic plant due to the enlargement are decided to the equipment that are applied to the civil engineering works and number of use years. For example, the spiral casing, stay vane of a hydraulic turbine and the stator of a generator correspond to the civil engineering works. It is necessary to determine the basic rated specifications for a rehabilitation facility. It was decided from the past operation information in the hydraulic system. The rated basic specification reflects the results of the operation water level, power and efficiency of the hydraulic turbine for the past decades. The methods to determine the net head of hydraulic turbine are based on the water level of weighted center, weighted average and multiple frequency by the measurement values in the turbine operation. In this study, the net head was determined by the using multiple frequency method for the D_ hydraulic plant with 45MW capacities in South Korea. Also, the losses of a penstock are applied. The turbine power range is calculated by applying the generator efficiency with the multiple frequency method. In order to determine the turbine efficiency, the weighted efficiency for 100%, 90%, 80% and 70% of the rated turbine power are calculated. Finally, the basic specifications of the hydraulic plant are determined with economic analysis of the performance improvement. |
