Urban drainage system has been actively researched at home and abroad to solve urban flash flood and flood damage caused by local downpour. Recent urban planning has been designed to better manage the floods of the decentralized rainfall management system and to recommend the installation of green infrastructure and LID(Low Impact Development) facilities at national ministries. In this study, we use the EPA SWMM model to construct a decentralized rainfall management network for each small watershed and analyze the effect of the improvement of drainage capacity through the installation of the LID technologies rather than the expansion of the network in vulnerable areas. In the design of the existing urban piping system, it was common to increase the pipe size due to the increment of the impervious area, the steep terrain, and the sensitive entrance ramp junction. However, the installation of the green infrastructure and LID facilities will be enough to build a safe urban drainage system. The application of LID facilities and green infrastructures in urban areas can have a positive effect on the recovery of healthy water cycle in urban areas and further research is expected in future. |
