The people around the Nakdong River in Republic of Korea are currently receiving tap water made by cleaning the river water of the 2nd ~ 3rd class water quality. People do not drink tap water directly because they are not reliable about tap water, and they drink bottled water that is more expensive than gasoline. To solve this problem, small and medium sized drinking water dams are being constructed and used as raw water for better water quality. However, the newly constructed dam has a high concentration of organic matter in the early stage, causing a black water phenomenon and a severe algal bloom phenomenon. The purpose of this study was to investigate the inflow characteristics of organic matter and the vertical distribution characteristics in the dam. |
