Development of a hydraulic turbine requires many attempts and errors because prototype testing consumes a lot of time and expense. Thus, instead of prototype testing, performance characteristics of a hydraulic turbine can be predicted through model performance testing. The purpose of this study is to predict its performance by analyzing three newly designed model turbines with different specific speeds(120, 200, 300m-kW). The model test is based on IEC 60193, the international standard for hydraulic turbine acceptance test, and the test rig uses pump and pressure tank to make head and flow. Flow rate and torque were measured via the electromagnetic flowmeter and dynamometer. As a result of this test, the highest efficiency appeared in the Ns200 model and hill-chart with n11-q11-efficiency were plotted based on test data. |
