In general, before manufacturing of a large-size prototype turbine, a small scale model turbine is manufactured and the model testing is performed according to the model acceptance test standard of IEC 60193. For various model testing, a model turbine is designed to measure axial and radial thrust of a runner, axial torque of a guide vane, pressure pulsation, and so on. In order to decide oil pressure of guide vane actuator and shear pin design value, axial torque of a guide vane is measured in the model testing. Full bridge strain gauges are attached on the axis of the guide vane as shown in Fig. 1, and it should be installed in the model turbine after calibration of axial torque measurement. Therefore the calibration device for axial torque measurement of a guide vane has been developed as shown in Fig. 2, and calibration tests have been carried out for several torque loads. For a runner blade, clamped stem with strain gauge bridges is used as shown in Fig. 3. Since a wireless transmitter device is installed in a runner cone, the wireless device was calibrated and a runner blade torque measuring device has been calibrated with a transmitter and receiver devices. The torque measuring devices are installed in a bulb type model turbine, and it will be measured for various test conditions during a model testing. |
