When the lower external resistance was applied to multi baffled microbial fuel cell
(MFC), the lower voltage and power density were shown. When CNT (carbon nano tube) and G/F
(graphite felt) were applied to the multi baffled MFC as an anode, SCOD removal efficiencies were
28.2% and 24.6% respectively. Maximum power densities were 120.9 W/m3 and 23.6 W/m3
respectively. Therefore, it is thought to be that higher electric conductivity has an effect on SCOD
removal efficiency and maximum power density. Multi baffled MFC which applied CNT based anode
was shown relatively good performance rather than multi baffled MFC which applied G/F as an
anode. The results of this study suggest that external resistance and material of anode is important to
optimum operating condition.
