| Examining ecological connectivity in Nakdong estuary with respect to river discharge |

Coastal ecosystem has been recognized as one of key ecological components to sustain resilient marine ecosystem. Ecological connectivity along coastal ecosystem is essential to obtain healthy coastal ecosystem. Estuarine environment is one the best coastal habitats to understand land-ocean ecological connectivity. However, coastal environments including estuaries are also one of the most influenced areas by both anthropogenic stressors and natual variabilities. In these context, Nakdong estuary could be the best area to examine ecological connectivity, considering both land-ocean connectivity and environmental multi stressors. We initiated research project to examine ecological connectivity in Nakdong estuary with multidisciplinary approaches. In this paper, we describe the research outline and preliminary results obtained from field survey performed in 2016. |
