Earthquake is one of the natural disasters that causes significant economic and social losses. Especially, water supply network (WSN) is a major lifeline infrastructure, which is most affected by seismic hazards. In this regards, seismic reliability assessment of WSN is essential to identify its vulnerability. This study proposes a multi-objective based reliability design model of WSNs to minimize pipe cost and maximize seismic reliability simultaneously based on REVAS.NET [1-3]. It aims to quantify the performance of WSNs based on components (e.g. pipes and tanks) fragility under stochastic earthquakes and to calculate total system cost. The developed model is demonstrated through the optimal design of the modified Anytown network with fixed scenario. Multi-objective Harmony Search (MOHS) is applied to seek the Pareto optimal solutions, and then the performance of the algorithms is also verified with sensitivity analysis of parameter values. |
