To play a global leading role in commitments to water management, K-water and the World
Water Council (WWC) launched a joint project on Smart Water Management (SWM). The research has
been designed to provide the key opportunities to globe, particularly developing countries to adopt the
cost-effective SWM addressing challenges on sustainable water management as a way of achieving
Sustainable Development Goals. The overall structure of the research takes the form of four process ?
a) develop framework and Performance Index(PI), b) conduct case studies, c) compare before and
after features of each cases to demonstrate the effectiveness of SWM, and d) implement road map and
guideline. In particular, the purpose of recomposing PI is to analyze case studies for demonstrating the
superiority of SWM as well as secure certified quantitative and qualitative data by cases and collect
questionnaires. The research is to contribute to government level policy makers, water-related
experts to improve water related policy. The outcomes of study will be presented and shared at the
8th World Water Forum.
