Smart Water Management (SWM) can be explained as a brand-new water management paradigm into which various technologies are fused together, including water resources and supply management to minimize water quantitative and quality risks through combining infrastructure-based water management technologies with Sensing, Information and Communications Technologies (SICTs).
The development of smart water management technologies helps water utilities improve operational efficiency and control and manage water supply systems in an initiative way. In this presentation, implementation technologies for smart water city are introduced for the purposes of healthy and safe drinking water to customers from source to water tap. As an example of smart water city, Paju city was selected and smart technologies are applied to provide reliable water to customers based on effective and safe supply of water including information which can secure total process of water supply systems. Also, application results of smart technologies to water supply and distribution systems are introduced and a paradigm shift related water sector can be shown and the future of water linked with Internet of Things and Intelligence will be discussed.
