As the greenhouse effect has become a serious issue recently, the interest in renewable energy is growing. A water source heat pump system as a sort of the geothermal heat pump system uses temperature difference energy of water such as sea-water, river-water, raw-water, etc. Seongnam water treatment plant, located in Korea, is equipped with a water to water heatpump system that uses raw-water as a heat source. The heat pump system is composed of a heatpump, pumps, a heat exchanger, a buffer tank, FCUs, etc. In this study, we set up a pilot plant and have analyzed operation strategies of the system for energy saving by using a building energy performance simulation program of TRANSYS. We have demonstrated the verification of these simulations by the comparative analysis of experimental results with simulations based on CV(RMSE) that is frequently used measure of accuracy in simulation of energy consumption of buildings. A flow rate of a pump is one of key factors that determine the performance of heat-pump heating and cooling system. In this study, a frequency of each pump equipped with an inverter motor system has been controlled in order to analyze the correlation between a flow rate of each pump(except for FCU) and performance of a raw-water-source heat pump system. In case that the inverter output frequency of each pump is about 45 Hz, it is observed that the performance is improved. Around 45 Hz detail simulations have been carried out, and optimal operating conditions of the raw-water-source heat pump system for energy saving have been extracted. Also, the pilot plant has been operated at the optimal operating conditions for the verification. |
