Water-related disaster such as droughts and floods under influence of climate change and global warming is constantly increasing all over the world. This research focuses on development of next-generation water hazard information platform technology satellite, hydrological radar and ground observation data. Water hazard information platform in Korea (WHAP) has been conducting research aimed to build a water hazard information platform system. WHAP will develop technology for monitoring, evaluation, and prediction of global and local water-related disaster (drought, flood, streamflow depletion, and so on) using various observation system such as satellite, radar include x-net, automatic weather station (AWS), microwave link, and so on. This study is expected to develop a prototype for information platform and its base technology to provide various information and analysis for water security reinforcement and water-related disaster mitigation. |
