In order to make disaster prevention and response to floods smarter and minimize consequent loss of lives, livelihood systems, property and damage to water infrastructures (dams, levees and bridges), this paper proposes us the WINS+?? as the state-of the art integrated safety management platform, so that safety information of the infrastructures is provided in real-time by combining numerical analyses and sensor data.
In addition, WINS+?? provides two other important functions: 1) it enables us to assess the scale of damages of the area inundated by flood waters and to submit the assessment report to the government just within 30 minutes after starting the computations, and 2) it dose quantitatively estimate the amount of damages of structures by using the specially designed drone equipped with high precision camera, which is able to find the feasible routes accessible to the target position and to provide optimized repair plans containing the necessary resources and budget estimation so as for decision-makers to rapidly and timely decide and execute actions needed. It is expected that WINS+?? serve as a robust tool for integrated disaster management of water infrastructures subject to extreme floods due to climate change in Korea.
