When aluminium coagulant was injected, the water flux decreased sharply and the recovery rate of filtration was low compared with the non-injecting coagulant condition. It was not re-coagulated with organics in the raw water and remaining coagulant increased membrane fouling. In terms of water flux and membrane fouling, it can decrease water flux and increase membrane fouling to inject aluminium coagulant. The water flux showed differently according to the presence of sedimentation when ferric coagulant was injected. When membrane filtration was operated just after coagulation without sedimentation, re-coagulated organics acted as foulants and decreased the water flux.
