It has been widely accepted that the pressure management of water distribution systems using pressure reducing valves (PRVs) would be an effective method for controlling leakages (Wu et al., 2011). In practice, managing a pressure in mountainous areas is said to be less effective to control leakage and more difficult to manipulate mechanical PRVs than in flat areas (Walski et al., 2006). In this research, the effect of PRVs installed in mountainous areas are evaluated in terms of hydraulic pressure reduction and mechanical performance by analyzing measured pressure data with statistical approach. |
