Recently, Korea government has been reinforced the safety of citizens triggered by the introduction of Government 3.0 and the Sewol Ferry accident. After 2012, 10 aged reservoirs(7 municipality, 3 Korea Rural Community Corporation) had been failed. Namely, a failure of aged reservoir has occurred every year. So social need on the accident prevention and safety of aged reservoirs is growing now. 16,646 reservoirs more than 30 years of the 17,477 agricultural reservoirs nationwide has been in the severe aged condition. However, they has been managed by the level of local repair and reinforcement. If it is designated as Disaster Risk Reservoir(DRR), the maintenance project (expense: 5∼20 billion won/ea, period: 2∼5 years) of it will carry forward with sharing 50% by the national treasury and 50% by the municipality treasury. The design and construction of the maintenance project carry forward by municipalities itself but some municipalities often carry forward the design and construction by the batch consignment with Korea Rural Corporation.
