Comparative analysis on water quality correlation in Nakdong river, South Korea |

Water quality variation of river is affected by various factors like weather, pollutant loads and landuse. Especially, water quality in major river with hydraulic structures is influenced by hydrological variation. So, it is important to assess water quality and analyse the correlation of water quality and influence factors. Nakdong river is located in middle of South Korea, has 8 hydraulic structures that constructed from the Four Rivers Restoration Project in 2012. The objectives of this study were to analyse comparative correlation of water quality with weather and hydrological data. In hydraulic structures of Nakdong river, Chl-a in the upstream was highly correlated with organic matters like TOC and COD. But Chl-a in the middle stream was more correlated with nutrient matters like T-N and T-P. Also Chl-a variations were more correlated with weather and hydrological data in upstream than downstream. And water temperature of Nakdong river were highly correlated with organic matters. |
