The report, Water and Green Growth launched at the 7th World Water Forum in Daegu,Gyeongbuk, Republic of Korea. This is a new theoretical approach, a revised analytical framework and recommendations for policy makers. The concept of green growth emerged from the Republic of Korea in 2008, as in the words of former President, "a new national development paradigm for job creation and new growth" and is related to the concepts of many international organizations like UNESCAP, OECD, UNEP, World Bank. As the green growth concept evolved in Korea and other countries around the world, it became clear that water was vital to green growth and to the three pillars of sustainable development-economic growth, environmental protection, and social development. |
