The rapid, accurate, and simple analytical method for the determination of trace amounts of chlorinated phenols, such as chlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP), 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TrCP), 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol (2,3,4,6-TeCP) and pentachlorophenol (PCP), in water using stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE)-thermal desorption unit(TDU)?gas chromatography?mass spectrometry (GC?MS) with in-situ derivatization are described. The optimization of SBSE conditions such as, extraction time, affection of salt and stirring speed are investigated. The detection limits and quantification limits of the chlorophenols in water are ranged 0.1~0.6 and 0.4~1.8 ng/mL, respectively. The average recoveries and precision of the chlorophenols in all the samples are ranged 98~109%, 2.0~6.6%, respectively. This level of detection observed based on hazard quotient a remarkable improvement over the conventional method. Moreover, the sufficient sensitivity of detection limits and quantitative limits for chlorophenols in water was estimated based on risk assessment in this work. |
