Natural organic matter (NOM) is easily found in every kinds of water including surface-, ground-, and soil-water. According to the researches for investigating NOM of Korea water during the latest decades, NOM of the surface-water is gradually increased which can be an adverse effect on drinking water treatment (DWT). In the research, natural organic matter (NOM) characteristics of water is analyzed. The samples are collected from Go-Ryeong water treatment plant in Nak-Dong River which is the second longest river in Korea. NOM characteristics in each unit process of full scale DWT plants are monitored by liquid chromatography-organic carbon detection (LC-OCD) and specific UV absorbance (SUVA). |
