In this study, uncertainty was measured for MIB and geosmin in water samples by SPME-GC/MS. Main objectives were to identify and quantify of each uncertainty and to improve the bigger uncertainty in the measurement process. Uncertainty sources are divided into four group 1) reference material, 2) sampling, 3) instrument and 4) repeatability. After calculating each components uncertainty, relative standard uncertainty was assessed. Order of this were as following; reference material 0.077 > repeatability 0.012 > sampling 0.002 > instrument 0.001. The results indicated larger uncertainty should carefully checked in preparation steps in primary and second solution. Expanded uncertainty of geosmin showed 15.5% to the real tap water sample concentrations ranged from 0.9 to 5.0 ng/L. To minimize uncertainty, 1) optimal model of standard dilution, 2) internal reference material use with similar physic/chemical properties, 3) sensitive and stable SPME test and 4) feedback test to uncertainty model etc. are required. |
