| Application of Coliphages as a Microbial Indicator for a Water Supply System |

To secure safe drinking water of water supply system, biological safety should be considered above physical and chemical safeties. For decades, coliphages could be considered as a useful microbial indicator in environmental water for enteric viruses. In this study, the modified coliphage method was used to evaluate the microbial conditions of water supply system. Also, the bacterial indicators were surveyed to investigate the microbial contamination of water supply system. The results showed that the modified coliphage method could give rapid evaluation of microbial conditions in distribution system. Therefore, the modified colipahge method makes possible rapid water quality assessments of water supply system. |
