Fates of unregulated compounds were assessed in the six full scale water treatment process. Target chemicals in this study were mainly unregulated pesticides originated from source water area in summer season. As a full scale water treatment process, conventional and advanced process including GAC filtration, pre and post ozonation and combination were selected. All measurements were done using online SPE with high resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometer. Carbendazim, one of the most frequently detected compound in source water was completely removed in coagulation/sedimentation process. Other compounds showed various removal fates in different process. Compare to low removal rates were observed in sole membrane process, pre-ozonation with pre-chlorination showed the highest removals. This was due to the elevated OH radical reactivity for mixed ozone and chlorine. Fates of natural organic matter(NOM) showed similar fate properties. This preliminary results indicated the NOM role as a interferences in oxidation process of full scale facility. |
