Surface water and groundwater can interact with each other in term of quantity and quality (Sophocleous, 2002). The interaction between groundwater and surface water should be understood in order to effectively manage water resources. In Korea, river dams which have been constructed in the Nakdong River basin for the purpose of flood control and effective water resource use can change hydrologic environmental system. Hydraulic conductivity is one of the main factors affecting subsurface infiltration and groundwater flow. We estimated the hyrogeologic properties, especially hydraulic conductivity in upstream of the Changryeong-Haman river dam area by using in-situ hydraulic tests (pumping test and Guelph infiltrometer test) and constant-head permeameter test. Moreover, we have periodically measured groundwater level at 22 locations as well as automatic groundwater level at 12 stations in the riparian zone of the tributaries (the Yeongsan Stream and Deoknam Stream) of the Nakdong River during May 2011?September 2013. |
