| Applicability of Manzari-Dafalias Constitutive Model to Rockfill Materials of Fill dam |

The structural stability of fill dam mainly relies on both of strength and deformation properties of rockfill materials and it is quite important to use proper constitutive model so as to catch the real deformation behavior ranging from small to large strains if necessary. Based on the results of large scale triaxial tests, this paper investigated the applicability of Manzari-Dafalias(MD) model as an alternative of the well-known hyperbolic model to rockfill materials in numerical analysis for deformation of fill dam. It is shown that MD constitutive model is capable to properly predict the stress-strain behavior of rockfill materials used for a fill dam. |
