To prevent discharge of muddy flow from a water reservoir, an additional selected withdrawal intake system has been planned. Before reconstruction of the water intake tower, flow patterns inside the water intake tower have been predicted to investigate the flow-induced problems such as cavitation erosion and instability of separated flow. The pipe line from the selected withdrawal tower should be connected the existing pipe line. At first the joint connection of both pipe lines had been designed with an inclination of 40 degree, but the design requires nervous administration and long period for the construction. Therefore another design of the joint connection had been suggested, and flow patterns for both designs have been compared from a point of view for the damage of pipe surface. |
