In order to develop a large-scale hydraulic turbine, many CFD research works have been carried out to increase the efficiency of the turbine and to stabilize the operating status. In general, however, the performance of the turbine is verified as the experimental results of the performance test for the small-scale model turbine. Test facilities for the model turbine have been installed in the limited organization holding water turbine development technologies. To promote technological growth of the water turbine manufacturers, K-water is constructing the turbine test facility through funds subsidized by K-water itself and the Korean government. The test facility is composed of the various equipment and measuring instruments, and these have been designed to enable the model acceptance tests for domestic hydraulic turbines based on the international standard of IEC 60193. The test capability has been limited to maximum head of 40 m and maximum flow rate of 1.0 m3/s, and the detail design of the specifications of the equipment is described in the paper. |
