Preliminary study was focused on observation of metal ion removal by nanofiltration membrane in which metal ions used to NF experiment were Pb, Cd, and B respectively. Coagulation pretreatment was not performed in this experiment. The removal efficiencies of metal ions by nanofiltration membrane were shown in Fig. 1, which indicates that the most high removal rate was observed in presence of Pb compared with other metal ions. The removal rate of Pb, Cd, and B were 87.2±9.4%, 62.8±10.1%, and 5.6±2.4% respectively. In addition of Cd in waters, the percent removal was drastically decreased to 45% when feed water concentration was increased from 0.07 mg/L to 0.128 mg/L. Moreover, boron ion was not mostly rejected on the NF membrane. |
