The power densities were different according to the influent sources and were increased with COD loading rates regardless of the influent source. CW produced the maximum power densities (PDmax) of 2.74 W/m3 (HRT 12h) and 3.51 W/m3 (HRT 6h). IP showed 6.97 W/m3 (HRT 6h) and 8.96 W/m3 (HRT 2h). Using EP, the PDmax were 2.22 (HRT 6h), 3.49 (HRT 4h), 6.01(HRT 2h), and 9.56 W/m3 (HRT 1h). In case of DW, the MFC produced 6.56 (HRT 6h), 9.86 (HRT 4h), 14.6 (HRT 2h), and 19.5 W/m3 (HRT 1h). However, MFC didn’t show expected power density although the high organic wastewater such as CW or DW were used. This study indicated that wastewater characteristics such as sorts and composition of easily biodegradable organic compounds would affect power generation of MFC. |
