The floating photovoltaic system is a new concept in energy technology to meet the needs of the times.
The system integrates existing land based photovoltaic technology with a newly developed floating photovoltaic technology.
The system is comprised of modules, buoyant objects, etc.,and is able to withstand drastic changes in water depth and wind strength.
As such, the floating photovoltaic system is much different from traditional photovoltaic system built on Iand such as BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic System).
K-water has already completed two floating photovoltaic system that able to generate 100kW and 500kW respectively.
Inthis paper, the generation efficiency of floating and land photovoltaic sstems were compared and analyzed.
Based on the results, a tracking floating photovoltaic system was propsed to increase generation efficiency.
