For the purpose of accurate flow measurement using multi-path ultrasonic flowmeter is a growing trend. However, the installation standard has been not established yet, so it led to lots of confusion on the field installation. Therefore, it is in need of minimum straight run to ensure the accuracy of the measurement from the flow disturbance factors - expansion, contraction and tee pipe installed in up and downstream. The experiments were performed by using multi-path flowmeters that have less than ±0.5% accuracy, 4-paths 1 unit, 2-paths 1 unit are of foreign-make, 5-paths 2 units are of domestic products, to determine straight run under the above conditions. We carried out experiments repeatedly considering straight run, velocity and suggested installation standards on multi-path ultrasonic flowmeter satisfying the tolerance. |
