Ground vibration can cause structural damages directly as it induces overstress by facilities excitation or structure above/below underground which is influenced by vibration. It can also result indirect structural damages from compaction settlement of foundation ground, liquefaction and settlement by pore water pressure.
This research conducts a Calibration Chamber Test considering law of similitude in order to grasp features
of levee body's behavior that pump vibration affects river levee through pipes serving as a medium, It analyzes changes of acceleration, earth pressure and pore water pressure when vibration occurs on its surrounding ground.
Through this Calibration Chamber Test, it provides preliminary data for improving problems such as potential crack, cavity enlargement, local settlement in the connecting parts of structure or levee body that sequential vibration led by regular operation of pumping and draining station can bring about.
