Despite of low particulate and biofouling, the MF pretreatment system went through severe membrane fouling due to iron and manganese. The experimental and chemical analysis results support the idea that the sources of iron and manganese were oxidation condition at periodic backwash operation and corrosion of metalitic body of pumps and valves. |
