Recently due to abnormal weather caused by global warming and rapid urbanization. the total amount of rainfall and the total number of heavy rain day has increased. Therefore, the natural damage associated with flood disaster has been dramatically increased. It is required of robust and economical flood prevention hydraulic structures. Cemented Sand and Gravel (CSG) is a relatively new, economical and stable construction technique for concrete placement that is being applied for hydraulic structures. CSG take advantage of both soil and concrete construction techniques. Consequently, CSG construction benefits from the simplicity of placing compacted fill, and the strength and durability characteristics of concrete. In general, applications using CSG were very limited prior to the beginning of the 1990s. But recently the use of CSG is widely increasing as the construction method for dam, cofferdam, levee and so on. The application of CSG has evolved empirically, whereas design, construction and analyses have been slower to develop. This study is intended to primarily be a guide for the technique application of CSG weir. And a series of field test, geophysical exploration method and monitoring were performed to investigate the long-term stability of CSG weir. |
