A strainer is one of the most important components in the mechanical type metesr for measurement water flow in closed conduits. Small sized water meters with a built-in strainer are in use measurement of water flow for house-hold. But, there is no standard of installation for mid and large sized axial type meters, namely Waltmann meter over 50㎜ diameter. It is different to error for water meters according to installed condition of strainer because it changed the characteristic of flowing. So, in this study it was recommended that a minimum straight length for a maintain the intrinsic error of water meters is 5D by experiment. |
