To examine the runoff characteristics of non-point sources(NPS) pollutants from the watershed(rural, urban, industrial) characterized by different land uses. The concentration of suspended solids(SS), organic matter (COD) and nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) were measured at 21 sites of inflowing streams into the Lake Sihwa from March to November 2006 including 8 storm events.The distinct increase in SS, COD, TN and TP concentration occurred only in the first heavy rain event of the season. The concentration of SS was on the increase about 710 mg/L(Rural area) during the rainy season.Therefore it is important to understand the runoff pattern of NPS pollutant from watershed in establishing the best management practices for NPS pollutants in Lake Sihwa. Also, it needs to more systematic research about non-point source to the watershed, because pollution discharge of non-point source relied on the characteristics of land uses at each watershed and rainfall event.
