The Water Treatment Plants around the Han River Water System in Korea draws its source water from the Paldang Lake. There are taste and odor (T&O) problems in the finished water because the conventional treatment processes currently used cannot completely remove T&O originated from algae or other microorganisms. This study evaluated removal of taste and odor in a pilot-scale treatment plant and bench-scale laboratory by upgrading the treatment processes and employing ozonation, granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment, powder activated carbon (PAC). |
