Recently, in geotechnical engineering an increasing effort has been made to exhaustively describe the soil behavior by an numerical analysis. In order to attain the effort, it are important that making adequately a choice of the constitutive model and testing a stress- stain relationship under loading conditions similar to those encountered in the field. Thus, in our research center, the true triaxial apparatus is developed. This apparatus with 34×34×34 cm true triaxial shell can accommodate up though gravel size, and can test such soils under three independently controlled principle stresses/stains. It can perform the consolidated and the drained and undrained triaxial test with controlled backpressure. Static and cyclic loading controls are possible. |
