The High-level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP) was established to assist the international community, governments and stakeholders in mobilizing political will and resources. It will promote actions to raise awareness, ensure coordination and collaboration, establish common goals and targets, monitor progress, and take effective measures aimed at addressing the issues of water and disasters.
HELP provides strategic policy recommendations to governments and the international community through reports and statements. Notable outputs include documents such as the "Principles to Address Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction."
HELP fosters global collaboration by engaging with organizations such as the United Nations, World Bank, OECD, national governments, and research institutions, organizing and participating in high-level dialogues and meetings.
The panel collects and disseminates successful case studies in water-related disaster response to strengthen policy-making and practical capacity, especially in developing countries.
HELP actively organizes and contributes to key international forums, including the World Water Forum and UN water-related conferences, leading global discussions on disaster risk reduction.
