Consultancy Service for Nonrevenue Water Capacity Assessment and Implementing Intelligent Water Leak Detection Technology and Water Loss Management Systems in Rawalpindi City of Punjab, Pakistan
This Technical Assistance (TA) project, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is designed to enhance urban infrastructure and services in Rawalpindi. As one of Pakistan’s most populous cities, Rawalpindi faces challenges in water supply. The project focuses on addressing these critical issues to improve water distribution and sustainability.
The primary goal of this project is to reduce non-revenue water (NRW) losses in Rawalpindi by implementing advanced water leak detection technologies and intelligent water loss management systems. Additionally, the project seeks to strengthen the capacity of the Rawalpindi Water and Sanitation Agency (R-WASA) by providing capacity-building programs, deploying IoT-based monitoring systems, and offering technical assistance to improve the reliability and efficiency of water supply services.
K-water JV (K-water, USOL) will conduct a comprehensive assessment of NRW in Rawalpindi, carry out a water balance analysis, implement intelligent water leak detection systems, and integrate IoT-based monitoring solutions to promote sustainable water management and distribution in the city.
